PRIVATE WORKSHOP in studio

Book for exclusive use of our lovely home studio in te miro, 15 mins from Cambridge town.
 
You will need 7or8 friends to fill a private workshop and what we make can be flexible! 
The cost is 100pp
Please touch base to arrange a date prior to booking in, especially over the busy summer months! 
 
Some of our ever changing options are;
PINCHPOT TECHNIQUE – choose 1-2 options to demonstrate
-hand pinched tumblers
-bud vases
-breakfast bowls
-egg snake
 
SLAB TECHNIQUE – choose 1-2 options to demonstrate
-boobie tumbler + ring holder (1ea)
-slab built mug (1) and side plate or small item
mugs can have added texture, stamped letters, flowers + leaves, the list is endless
-travel mug + trinket dish or teabag rest
-slab built vase, painted or add texture
-forage bowl
-toothbrush holder + soap dish
-platter or cheeseboard and ramekin set
as platters are quicker to make, a great option is to paint fruits on them, so cool!
-abstract face dishes
-egg tray + spoon rest
-jewelry tray or trinket dish, ring holder, soap dish
-stripy or spotty slabwork serving bowl and serving utensils
 
CHRISTMAS THEME – choose 1-2 options to demonstrate
-mini christmas trees (3)
-christmas gonk family (4)
-christmas decorations (6)
-xmas mugs; gingerbread, candy cane, mistletoe
-christmas plates
 
We will have time for a demonstration of 1-2 of the above choices from the same category, which are grouped together in a way that I can fit it into the 20minute demonstration time. After the demonstration you will have approx 1.5hours working time to work on your pieces while I float around and assist. The last half an hour allows for smoothing, for overtime as well as choosing and filling out your glaze info sheet
Workshops last 2.5 hours.
All tools, clay, two firings + glaze included

Please note that our workshops are slightly flexible, so if your heart goes in another direction using the same technique we will do our best to guide you along the way. Our workshops are small groups of only 8 or less so you will have personalised assistance + guidance.

Your pieces will be slowly dried, fired, glazed in your choice (of 3) glazes and available for collection 4-6 weeks post workshop
*non refundable unless we can fill your space; you can transfer to a friend if unable to make it. however if you have an emergency, please contact us at samara@thepiedpotter.co.nz so we can try to refill your spot; this is not usually possible within 48hours of event.
*under 15 must book alongside an adult
*8 people max. reserve the right to cancel (and refund) or reschedule if numbers aren't reached
*clay, glaze + firings included
*feel free to bring a beverage of any sort, glassware available
*pottery can be very humbling. we will do our best to repair any small cracks. breakages and large cracks can occur due to learning and are part of the process. in the case of any kiln issue or error with glazing/handling you will be offered a chance to come out and remake your piece.
