five week pottery course - Jan/Feb
Starts Tuesday 21st Jan, 6.30pm 2024 for 5 weeks.
Join us for a hands-on pottery course held in our lovely wee home studio in Te Miro, 15mins from Cambridge town.
Perfect for beginners looking to learn pottery techniques to start their journey, or simply give a craft a go.
Get ready to get your hands dirty and unleash your creativity! Our spacious and well-equipped studio provides the ideal environment for you to explore your artistic side.
~ five week block ~
WEEK 1 - slab technique, plates + bowls, wavey + bobble dishes
WEEK 2 - pinch technique, tumbler, bowls or bud vases
WEEK 3 - build on your fave technique or make a mug
WEEK 4 - decorating + glazing
WEEK 5 - join up for a glass of vino, collect and chat over your pieces, watch a demo on the pottery wheel and have a 5 minute taster on the wheel yourself for fun if you fancy. you'll make a wee vessel to collect at a later date!
MONDAYS 6.30 - 8.30pm plus clean up time

Your pieces will be ready for you to take home on the final night and your wheel pieces wil be available for collection 3-4 weeks post workshop
*non refundable unless we can fill your space; you can transfer to a friend if unable to make it. however if you have an emergency, please contact us at samara@thepiedpotter.co.nz so we can try to refill your spot; this is not usually possible within 48hours of event.

*clay, glaze + firings included
*feel free to bring a beverage of any sort, glassware available
*pottery can be very humbling. we will do our best to repair any small cracks. breakages and large cracks can occur due to learning and are part of the process. in the case of any kiln issue or error with glazing/handling you will be offered a chance to come out and remake your piece.
